Oaxaca museum of contemporary art (January 2008)
Four galleries here were showing the work of four different artists. Each had a guestbook with comments from people from many countries. One comment was memorable for its verity: "Quit complaining. It only cost $2.00 to get in. You can't even buy a cup of coffee for that in the US or Europe."
Whether the art is to your taste or not, the spaces in the museum are beautiful. The courtyards are especially compelling. It was well worth the cost of a cup of coffee.
