We planned to stop in Barbados for just a few days, but ended up staying more than a week, partly due to wind and wave forecasts, but largely because we were enjoying ourselves on this beautiful island. Besides hanging out with other cruisers who had just made the passage, we toured the island with Liat and Assaf from Jinja and visited the Mount Gay Rum facility for a tour and tasting. The sand on the beaches where we anchored was the finest we've seen anywhere. In contrast, the northern shore where the Atlantic waves crash was among the wildest.
