Shelter Bay, Panamá (March 2008)
Shelter Bay Marina, on the Caribbean side of the Panama Canal, was Solstice's home for 30 days. Three weeks of that was "on the hard." We immediately spotted another Sceptre there, Glide, which is hull #1.
Glide was briefly renamed to become background for the new 007 movie, Quantum of Solace, being shot, in part, at Shelter Bay. The movie-making provided lots of excitement for two weeks at the marina.
Shelter Bay is located at the old Fort Sherman. One day John went exploring down a road through the jungle and found the remains of World War I batteries.
