Dieppe, France (August 2009)
Dieppe's harbor is in the middle of town. Beautiful old buildings with sidewalk cafés surround it, and the towers of nearby churches are visible when the tide is in.
We did more exploring in Dieppe than we did in Boulogne, visiting a really old church, the beach, and the foot of a castle.
Beautiful white cliffs line the shore on either side of Dieppe. In fact, they start near Boulogne and continue almost to the mouth of the Seine.
