Saint Peter Port harbor, Guernsey, is guarded by an old castle, and the buildings in the town are built of stone. Staircases provide shortcuts to get up the steep hill. The potential dreariness of so much rock is alleviated by colorful flowers everywhere.
The young man from harbor control recommended the Cock and Bull pub, and a British neighbor told us we should visit Victor Hugo's house. Both were excellent suggestions and have their own photo pages.
