Horta-Velas Regatta, Azores (July 2008)
We joined the regatta because Gerry on Per Mare needed out of the raft-up in order to go, and entering got us two free meals. It turned out to be one of the most fun things we've done.
On the way to Velas, we had a little wind and finished respectably. When we arrived, we discovered that a festival was going on, and we had third or fourth row seats. Close enough to the rock band and dj who played music until four or five in the morning.
On the way back to Horta, there was no wind at all, so we did what cruisers do: ate and took naps. And we finished dead last, but it was a great weekend!
