Grotto near Lagos, Portugal (September 2009)
Friends told us to be sure to see the grottos at Lagos, and who are we to ignore advice? Rather than take our own dinghy, though, we decided to suport the local economy and go with a guide.
Our guide spoke only a few words of English, but we worked hard to make sure that we understood the names of the various formations (which we've now forgotten). He also seemed to enjoy trying to get us wet by going full speed through the waves. It was a lot of fun, and we too recommend it to those who come after us.
