Our first anchorage in the Aeolian Islands was at Isola Alicudi, the westernmost island. No cars are allowed on this island.
Next we moved to the quiet, southwestern side of the very popular Isola Salina below the village of Rinella.
Then we headed off to Stromboli to anchor until sundown so that we could see the volcano erupting at night and spewing lava.
Our longest stop was at Isola Vulcano, but it has its own photo page.
Finally, we spent two nights at the dock (subject to lots of wakes) at Lipari. Lipari is the most populuous of the islands and has an excellent archeological museum. At least one swordfishing boat also seems to be based here.
